Frances Chang is a musician and artist from New York. Combining use of conventional instrumentation, playful electronics, and poetry, her unique strain of experimental songwriting deals with disrupting accepted reality. Her work is an exercise in communication, probing the tension between idiosyncratic personal experience and the drive to understand and be understood through a collective language.

Prymek & Sage

Chaz Prymek and Matthew Sage are old friends; after a spate of duo releases in the late 2010s and early 2020s, this run of shows celebrates ‘Shelter’ their first proper full length duo release in six years (out on AKP Records). Those six years have been busy for both artists; they are the primary songwriters in their project Fuubutsushi with Patrick Shiroishi and Chris Jusell, Prymek is busy with his Lake Mary project, along with being a curator and organizer in Salt Lake City, Sage has had a string of albums on RVNG, as well as juggling being a professor, a parent, a gardener, and an artist in Northern Colorado. They both spent part of that time wandering the Midwest, but both share deep roots in the Mountain West, in Colorado and Utah. With their new release they find themselves in new sonic territory, for fans of Fuubutsushi, it might feel a little more familiar with where they find themselves sonically. Something nice quite ambient, not quite jazz, not quite folk, but an integration of all parts of their musical journey. Seeing them perform is something more ceremony than concert.
